
What time is registration?
You can register from 12 noon and the registration point is just outside Cha Cha Cha in Cassiobury Park. You will get a map showing the exact position in your registration pack.
How long is the route?
There are two routes, a 10K route which goes through Whippendell woods and a 3K route suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
How long will the walk take?
The walk will take between 2 and 3 hours for the 10K but there is no rush and we encourage walkers to go at their own pace.
How will we find our way?
The route is fully marshalled along the way and you will also be provided with a map on the day.
Is the route suitable for children?
The Big “Herts” walk is designed to be a fun family day out. There will be activities for the children while they enjoy their gentle stroll. Every walker will be given a medal and certificate on completion of the walk. The 3K walk is on paths through the park and on pedestrian walkways so it is suitable for buggies and wheelchairs.
Are there toilets?
Yes they are toilets half way around the 10K walk and also toilets in Cassiobury Park itself.
Will there be refreshments?
We suggest you bring water and there will be a sandwich lunch available for all walkers. Cha Cha Cha will also be open for hot drinks and snacks throughout the day. We will also have a water station on the 10K route.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes provided you keep your dog on a lead and have provisions to clean up any mess they might make.
How much does it cost to take part?
There is a registration fee of £10 per adult and £5 for under 12’s. A family registration is £25 for two adults and two children. We would also like you to raise some sponsorship to help support the three charities. You can always choose to self sponsor if you wish.

What is the gift aid box?
Get as many people who are UK tax payers (or who pay Capital Gains tax) to tick the gift aid box as we are then able get an extra 28p in the £1 back on their donation. Make sure they use their home address.
Do I need special footwear?
We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing and sensible footwear.
Is any of the walk slippery?
Yes it could be particularly if it has been raining as we are walking in the park.
I have a medical condition, can I still take part?
Please give us details of your condition. We will ask you to carry a card with you on the day so that you have this information on you at all times.
